BR&G Lawyer Visits the Brazilian Amazon with Engineers Without Borders
Jim Duda, a partner in BR&G’s Springfield office, recently returned from a trip to the Brazilian Amazon with his team of students from the UMass Amherst chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB). The team, for which Jim is its professional mentor, traveled to the two million acre Chico Mendes Reserve in the Amazon to assess ways to provide clean water and sanitation for some 1,400 people who live and work in the forest sustainably as rubber tappers. Jim is a professional engineer who heads the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Area and also practices in the firm’s Environmental Department. Read a press release regarding this fascinating EWB trip here.
