Litigation Associate

This prominent law firm seeks an attorney with 1-3 years experience in civil litigation for its Springfield office. Superior academic credentials, excellent writing ability, and strong interpersonal skills are required. Large firm and clerkship experience preferred.

Billing Supervisor

Responsible for the daily production of client billing for a mid-size Law Firm. Position requires proficiency in complex, software-based billing systems and the ability to train and supervise others in billing tasks.

Daily Department Responsibilities

Open new client/matters and validate conflict data for accuracy and completeness. Establish electronic billing profiles for new clients on various e-billing websites.

Utilizing time and billing software, prepare draft client bills for attorney review and revision, then process corrections, time transfers, write-downs and other adjustments by client matter. Proofread and edit draft bills for compliance with client billing guidelines. Report to attorneys, legal assistants and clients regarding billings, receipts, and other financial matters as requested. Monitor e-billing portals for status of bill acceptance and payment and post all receipts into billing system and appropriate banking and credit card websites. Provide daily revenue reports to management.

Additional Department Responsibilities

Supervise legal billing assistant and train new hires and others regarding matter intake, billing processes, and other back office applications. Provide assistance for other projects and duties as assigned by Controller.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business
Three years of experience with law firm billing procedures required
Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
Accurate proofreader
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Mathematical aptitude
Proficiency in Excel

The Billing Supervisor’s role is a full-time permanent position in downtown Springfield, Massachusetts with full benefits including insurances, 401(K) plan, and free parking.
